TAMPA - (May 10, 2010) - The American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) today announced the election of Lynn Helmer, MD, MBA, CPE, FACPE, FACP, to its 2010-2011 Board of Directors.
Helmer was one of three new board members selected by the ACPE membership during an online election in late February. They took their seats during the 2010 ACPE Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. on April 30. Each board member serves a three-year term.
Helmer is the president of DRD Consulting in Haddon Heights, New Jersey. She received her MBA from Drexel University in 2000, and has been appointed to the 2007, 2008 and 2009 Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
She has been an ACPE member since 2000.
ACPE is the nation's oldest and largest medical management educational association for physicians. Its members include chief executive officers, chief medical officers, vice presidents of medical affairs, medical directors and other physicians who want to boost their leadership skills and add weight to their CVs.
Since its founding in 1975, the primary focus of the College is encouraging physicians to assume more active roles in the leadership and management of organizations in the health care industry and helping physicians acquire leadership and management skills.
